40 close associates of Matraimov identified and located, National Security Committee says

AKIPRESS.COM - The circle of persons linked to corruption schemes in customs administration has been established, said the National Security Committee on October 19. Investigation into corruption in customs administration involving former Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Service Raimbek Matraimov and other customs officials is under way, the statement said.
About 40 close associates of Matraimov were identified and located, the statement said. Their involvement in the corruption scheme is being established.
Calculation of the size of damage to the state budget and search for other persons involved is in progress, the statement added.
Raim Matraimov is former Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Service nicknamed Raim-Million for his alleged wealth he gained due to corruption schemes in the customs administration. He was sacked in November 2017 over the loss of government's trust.
