AKIPRESS.COM - First Vice Chairman of the State Border Service Col. Abdikarim Alimbaev today held meeting with heads of law enforcement and defense agencies on stabilization of the situation on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border in Uch-Dobo area of Batken region, the Border Service of Kyrgyzstan reported.
Col. Alimbaev said efficient measures should be adopted to protect population of border areas and to prevent recurrence of border incidents in future.
Following the talks held between the countries, the Tajik side began dismantling water pipes which Tajik citizens attempted to lay in the disputed border area yesterday.
The situation on Kyrgyz-Tajik border is described as stable.
