Kazakhstan boosts coronavirus response efforts

AKIPRESS.COM - Minister of Health Alexei Tsoi said that as of November 2 a surge in coronavirus cases was seen in most regions of Kazakhstan. Speaking at the government session on Tuesday, Tsoi said the growth rate is 0.4%, virus hospital beds are loaded by 22%, intensive care beds - by 18%.
At the meeting, the interdepartmental commission made a decision to change order of crossing the state border for foreigners who have a residence permit on the territory of Kazakhstan, their family members, foreigners who are family members of citizens of Kazakhstan -- not more than once in 90 days (previously there were 30 days).
The decision was also made to extend the suspension of visa-free regime for citizens of 57 countries until May 1, 2021. The suspension of 72-hour visa-free stay in the country of transit passengers from China and India was extended until January 1, 2021.
From November 9 this year the Kazakh government also decided to reduce the number of international flights with Turkey from 33 to 20 per week.
Over the past 24 hours 449 people had their PCR tests for coronavirus positive in Kazakhstan, the Health Ministry said on November 3.
To date, a total of 113,309 cases of coronavirus infection have been registered in the country.
