Japarov tells SCO leaders Kyrgyzstan will have fair presidential elections

AKIPRESS.COM - Fight against coronavirus and its implications, protection of rights, interests and ensuring safety for foreign nationals staying in Kyrgyzstan are primary tasks for the government, acting President and Prime Minister Sadyr Japarov said in his contribution at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization virtual summit on November 10.
The snap presidential elections were scheduled for January 10 in Kyrgyzstan, he said.
"Conduct of honest and competitive presidential elections is pledge for further stability in the country. We have firm political will to hold fair elections," Japarov said.
Kyrgyzstan remains committed to all its obligations and earlier signed bilateral and multilateral agreements and treaties, he stressed.
"Participation of Kyrgyzstan in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization is one of foreign policy priorities," Sadyr Japarov said.
