AKIPRESS.COM - "I have no intention to establish dictatorship," acting President and Prime Minister Sadyr Japarov told a press conference today.
He said people in Kyrgyzstan made 3 revolutions for 30 years in protest against dictatorship, unlawful things and injustice. "Kyrgyz people will not allow dictatorship. I do not have such intentions," he stressed.
When asked about constitutional reform, Japarov said a draft of the Constitution is being developed. It will be brought to the Parliament and for public discussion. Only people will make decision on it, Japarov said.
"Single-mandate system is requirement of people, not mine. But we will take into account demands of all sides. As far as I know, not only single-mandate system, but the party system will be included as well. If 35 MPs are elected in single-mandate constituencies, 55 MPs will be elected based on the party system. This way we will have 90 MPs," he said.
