AKIPRESS.COM - Mongolia marks the National Pride Day - the 858th anniversary of Genghis Khan, which is observed annually on the first day of winter according to the Mongolian Lunar Calendar.
The National Pride Day is celebrated as a public holiday in Mongolia since 2012, Montsame reports.
On National Pride Day, high-ranking state officials pay tribute to the Statue of Chinggis Khaan and a Mongolian wrestling tournament takes place. This year, however, public celebratory activities including the award ceremony of the Order of Chinggis Khaan, the most prestigious and supreme state prize, will not be organized for the holiday due to the ongoing heightened state of readiness for disaster protection.
