President's press secretary Galina Baiterek comments on 230 convicts pardoned by Japarov

AKIPRESS.COM - President's press secretary Galina Baiterek commented on the earlier signed order pardoning convicts by then acting President Sadyr Japarov.
"More than 2,000 pardon applications were considered. The presidential order was issued pardoning more than 200 convicts. These are those who committed minor crimes. Besides, there are women, minors and seriously ill citizens among them," Galina Baiterek said.
"Decisions on pardoning will be made after thorough check. This work will be continued," she added.
230 convicts were pardoned and released from prisons, prison terms were shortened for 38 prisoners, according to the State Penitentiary Service.
