Supreme Court cancels convictions of ex-PM Sapar Isakov within Historical Museum and racetrack modernization probe

AKIPRESS.COM - The Supreme Court of Kyrgyzstan cancelled decisions of two previous courts in the case of the illegal reconstruction of the Historical Museum in Bishkek and the racetrack in Cholpon-Ata, lawyer Bakytbek Avtandil uulu said. Former Prime Minister Sapar Isakov and former presidential adviser Mira Karybayeva are involved in this case.
According to the lawyer, the criminal case was sent for a new consideration to the Pervomai district court with a different composition.
Earlier, the court found Sapar Isakov guilty for corruption and sentenced him to 18 years in prison with compensation of damage in favor of the Ministry of Finance in the amount of 247,650,281 soms. Isakov was also found guilty within the case of modernization of the Bishkek CHPP and was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
Mira Karybayeva was found guilty of abuse of office and was fined for 260,000 soms.
