AKIPRESS.COM - Uzbekistan plans to resume bus service to Kyrgyzstan in the nearest time, the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan said.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov and acting Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Artem Novikov held talks on December 8 in Ferghana.
The sides expressed readiness for implementation of joint measures on the soonest relaunch of international bus passenger transportation on approved routes.
The importance of effective use of Andijan-Osh-Irkeshtam-Kashgar road in the system of multimodal freight transportation from China to Europe through the Central Asian states was underlined.
The bus service between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan was halted in March after the borders were closed due to coronavirus pandemic.
