AKIPRESS.COM - President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi today held the virtual talks.
The leaders noted the online event is evidence of achieved high level of bilateral relations of strategic partnership, possibility to identify new points for effective response to coronavirus pandemic effects, the Uzbek president's press service reported.
The leaders set the task to boost bilateral trade to $1 billion in the next few years.
The agreement was reached to expand the contacts between the regions of two countries on the example of partnership between Andijan region and Gujarat state.
The joint statement on close friendship and strong partnership between Uzbekistan and India was adopted following the summit.
A range of bilateral documents in innovations, financial and technical assistance, customs, technical regulation of trade, staff training, joint research projects were signed during the event.
