EBRD to provide $150 million to Uzbekistan for water supply and energy projects

AKIPRESS.COM - Uzbekistan will obtain $150 million loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development for several projects, the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan reported. The loan agreements for $150 million were signed recently as part of implementation of the program of support of vital infrastructure and energy sector.
The funds will be used for construction and rehabilitation of water supply networks in Muzrabad district of Surhandarya region.
These and other projects were discussed during the virtual meeting between Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade Sardor Umurzakov and EBRD President Odile Renaud-Basso.
The joint projects in various areas for more than 1 billion Euros were considered during the talks. Priority areas in further expansion of bilateral cooperation were discussed among other aspects.
