AKIPRESS.COM - The Budget and Finances Committee of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan considered suggestions on optimization of the budget of the Social Fund, pension system reforms at its meeting on December 14.
Kyrgyzstan has 670,000 pensioners now, Social Fund Vice Chairperson Gulnura Jumataeva said.
47,000 people retire every year in the country.
The number of pensioners who have not reached pension age is growing in Kyrgyzstan, she added.
"Women retire at age of 58 years, men at age of 63 years. However, 70% of citizens who retired recently are those who retired ahead of pension age," Gulnura Jumataeva said.
The proportion between working citizens and pensioners has changed. This proportion should make 3 working citizens per 1 pensioner, but now 1 worker accounts for 1 pensioner. To this end, it was suggested to stop early retirement, the parliament's press service reported.
