AKIPRESS.COM - The epidemiological situation remains tense in Kyrgyzstan despite decline in daily coronavirus cases, Deputy Health Minister Nurbolot Usenbayev told a press briefing today.
"The daily cases are declining, but new cases are still detected. It is early yet to relax. We should not forget about precautionary measures: masks, use of antiseptics and social distancing," the Deputy Health Minister said.
"The neighboring countries also have rather tense COVID-19 situation. Some regions have an intensive growth of daily coronavirus cases. We see decline in daily cases for the past 2 weeks," he said.
The coronavirus reproduction number made 0.6-0.8 in November-December. This figure shows to how many people one infected person may transmit coronavirus. If the number makes 1, it means stabilization on a certain level.
"However, this number is higher than 1 in some regions, including Bishkek, Issyk-Kul and Jalal-Abad regions. These areas have higher figures than the rest parts of the country," the Deputy Health Minister stated.
