AKIPRESS.COM - Around 500 workers remained jobless after fire at the processing plant of the Full Gold Mining developing the Ishtamberdy gold mine in Ala-Buka district of Jalal-Abad region, region governor Absattar Syrgabaev said. During visit to Ala-Buka and Chatkal districts, the meeting was held with representatives of mining companies, he said.
The management of the Full Gold Mining is making efforts now to restore the burnt plant.
"Fire was caused by ignition of electric wire. The investigation is ongoing to determine the causes. The mine developers said the damage is estimated at around 140 million soms. The development will begin in the nearest time. Restoration of the plant is due in February-March 2021," the governor said.
The contracts with workers were terminated due to accident. Around 500 workers remained jobless. They will resume work after re-launch of the plant, the governor stated.
Fire occurred at the processing plant of Full Gold Mining on October 19.
Full Gold Mining is active in Kyrgyzstan since 2007. It implements the Kyrgyz-Chinese project "Resources in Exchange for Investments", which envisions financing of reconstruction of some parts of the Osh-Sary-Tash-Irkeshtam road by the Chinese company in exchange for the right to develop Ishtamberdy gold mine.
