Police officer detained in Bishkek for extortion of 100,000 soms in exchange for closing rape probe

AKIPRESS.COM - A senior officer of the criminal police department of Sokuluk district was detained in Bishkek for extortion a bribe, the sources from the law enforcement agencies told AKIpress on December 22.
The policeman was extorting 100,000 soms in exchange for closing a criminal probe into rape.
The policeman was detained red-handed on December 21 near the Osh bazaar.
