Kyrgyz citizens without registration may get registered in local administrations

AKIPRESS.COM - Citizens of Kyrgyzstan living in houses without property titles or in areas where residence has not been formalized yet may exercise their electoral rights. This information came from the briefing of the coordination office for the early presidential elections and referendum.
"If citizens do not have permanent residence place or they live for some reasons without documents, there is a provision allowing registration of such citizens in local administrations at place of their residence," Cadastre Department Director Bakytbek Jusupbekov said.
This norm can be used only by citizens who are not registered anywhere, he said.
"This norm applies only to homeless people. Citizens having registration in regions will have to vote there or will need to get registered at place of residence of their relatives," State Registration Service Chairman Akyn Mambetaliev added.
No more than 10 people may be registered in one house, he said. An owner of house should be present during registration of residence, he said.
"We should make sure that an owner of the house permits registration for another citizen. In case information is obtained that more than 10 people are registered in one house, the Interior Ministry, Central Election Commission, local administration will be informed," the State Registration Service Chairman said.
