AKIPRESS.COM - Acting President and Speaker Talant Mamytov is holding meeting of the Security Council with participation of acting Prime Minister Artem Novikov, Supreme Court Chairperson Gulbara Kalieva, Chief of President's Administration Suyunbek Kasmambetov, leaders of parliamentary factions, ministers.
Acting Prime Minister Artem Novikov reported on progress of preparations for the referendum on government system. "The task of the government is to prevent abuse of administrative resources by anyone. The game rules have changed now. The government will perform only organizational and technical functions," he said.
The working day of January 8 was shifted to another day, Novikov said.
"Our voters will be provided opportunity to travel to the place of their registered residence and vote in the period from January 7 to 10," Novikov explained why January 8 was declared day off in the country.
Kyrgyzstanis will have 4 days off - January 7 (Orthodox Christmas), January 8 (Friday), January 9 (Saturday) and January 10 (Sunday), the day of presidential elections and referendum.
