Uzbekistan sets up around $3 million reserve for COVID-19 response next year

AKIPRESS.COM - The systemic battle against COVID-19 will be continued in health care sector in 2021, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said in his address to the Parliament of Uzbekistan today.
To this end, the reserve of 3 trillion soums (over $287.5 million) was formed in the public budget, President Mirziyoyev said.
This reserve will be used for vaccination of population against coronavirus infection among other activities, he added.
$200 million will be spent for improvement of resources and supplies of sanitary and epidemiological service, creation of state-of-the-art laboratories.
In view of coronavirus pandemic lessons, the scope of digitalization of healthcare sector will be expanded. The range of distance service will be extended as well. E-records will be introduced in outpatient departments and hospitals.
