Finacial police chief set to check Bishkek combined and heat plant over smog

AKIPRESS.COM - Financial police chief Syimyk Japykeyev said he intends to check the Bishkek combined heat and power plant due to air pollution in the capital.
"It is nice outside Bishkek and sun is shining there. The city suffers from gas attack. The coal from Kara-Keche is not suitable for burning. Those who built the plant and commissioned it will be held accountable," Japykeyev said on his social media page.
AKIpress reader e-mailed a video of the smog over Bishkek taken near Ata-Beit memorial cemetery outside the capital on January 3.
"The city is under black smog. The situation with coronavirus is easier than with smog," the reader said.
