Alert to be raised for police forces in Kyrgyzstan since Jan 8 in run up to elections

AKIPRESS.COM - The police forces will be on raised alert since January 8, Interior Minister Ulan Niyazbekov said during the online meeting on preparations for the early presidential elections.
Over 11,000 police forces will be involved into the process of protection of public order and safety. More than 5,000 police officers are stationed at the polling stations, the Interior Minister said.
The police stand ready to ensure public order and safety during the presidential elections and referendum, the Minister said.
Kyrgyzstan will have snap presidential elections and the referendum on January 10.
