AKIPRESS.COM - The Disease, Epidemiological and Sanitary Control Department of Kyrgyzstan has launched investigation following a report about poisoning of 12 people in Uzbekistan after consumption of Gradusnik vodka made in Kyrgyzstan.
"The investigation was launched by the Department. A local disease and epidemiological control division was tasked to conduct a check to identify any falsified vodka," the Department said.
Specialists are working at the factory of the vodka producer.
12 people were transported to hospital in Turakurgan district of Namangan region of Uzbekistan from December 29-31 as a result of acute alcohol poisoning. Two people died in hospital later, the General Prosecutor's Office of Uzbekistan said.
It was reported that all affected people consumed Gradusnik vodka with excise stamps of Kyrgyzstan.
