Voter turnout for referendum and early presidential elections differs for over 100 people - CEC

AKIPRESS.COM - The voter turnout for the early presidential elections and referendum as of 10.00 a.m. differs for more than 100 people, Central Election Commission Chair Nurjan Shaildabekova told reporters today.
The referendum will be declared as valid in case the voter turnout makes over 30%, she said.
The statistical information is obtained from the counter of the automated ballot boxes, which counts the number of cast ballots. The result is displayed in the main menu of the automated ballot box. This figure is sent to the Central Election Commisison.
"The number of voters in the elections and referendum is determined by the number of ballots extracted from the automated ballot boxes. The ballots for referendum and elections are counted separately. A voter receives two slips after biometric identification and then ballots are registered in paper lists of voters in case a citizen wishes to vote in the elections and the referendum. A citizen is free to vote only in referendum or elections. For this reason voter turnout differs," the CEC Chair explained.
