AKIPRESS.COM - Polling stations for voting in early presidential elections and the referendum on government system have closed in Kyrgyzstan.
Polling stations still remain opened abroad.
The preliminary voting results will be known after 8.00 p.m. when the informaiton from the automated ballot boxes will be uploaded to the servers of the Central Election Commission.
2,474 polling stations were opened in total. The final voter listincluded 3,563,574 citizens.
48 polling stations were opened abroad.
The snap presidential elections were scheduled after Sooronbai Jeenbekov resigned as President of Kyrgyzstan following the 4 October 2020 parliamentary elections.
The Central Election Commission has registered 17 presidential candidates.
