All political processes should be completed before June 1 - Japarov on constitutional reform

AKIPRESS.COM - People have chosen the presidential system, Sadyr Japarov told a press conference folloing announcement of preliminary voting results in the presidential elections and the referendum.
The constitutional convention should present the draft of the Constitution in the nearest time. The Parliament should schedule the referendum. Political reforms will be carried out upon adoption of a new Constitution, Japarov said.
The reform means a new structure of the government, Parliament. A half of the Parliament will be elected from single-mandate constituencies and another part will be elected on party lists, Japarov said.
"All political processes should be completed before June 1. We will live under the current Constitution until adoption of a new one. The new laws will be adopted in line with the new Constitution then. To have balance of power, the state and the Parliament will receive equal power. The kurultay institute will be introduced as well," he said.
According to the preliminary voting results as of 10.40 p.m., 81.08% of voters have voted for the presidential system, 10.91% voted for parliamentarism, 4.44% voted against both options.
