AKIPRESS.COM - Russian State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin called on the U.S. to learn holding open and competitive elections from Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan. In an interview with Russia 24 TV channel, Volodin said that Russian MPs were in Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan as observers in January 2021.
Observers found the elections to meet national legislations, be competitive and open, he said.
"The United States, with its archaic system, closed elections with no international observers, could learn from these countries," Volodin said.
Electoral standards in the former Soviet countries, members of the CSTO and the CIS, are "very high," Volodin noted.
