COVID-19 situation remains tense in Kyrgyzstan

AKIPRESS.COM - COVID-19 situation remains tense in Kyrgyzstan. Virus continues circulating, Deputy Health Minister Nurbolot Usenbayev told a briefing today.
"Daily coronavirus cases are relatively high in Bishkek, Chui and Issyk-Kul regions. Epidemiological supervision is continuing. We trace contracts and demand their self-isolation," the Deputy Health Minister said.
He reminded about new coronavirus variants. "We talked about UK coronavirus variant. They also report about new strains from Australia, South Africa. Other countries register coronavirus variants. Russia continues study of new strains. We send samples to Novosibirsk and continue epidemiological supervision," the Deputy Health Minister stated.
He said the government is working to prevent import of new coronavirus variants. Temperature of arriving passengers is tested. They complete a special form. Possible COVID-19 testing is considered at the airport.
All arriving passengers should present medical certificates with negative PCR test results for coronavirus.
