President of Uzbekistan may pardon or release any convict

AKIPRESS.COM - The President of Uzbekistan may pardon or release any convict at own initiative regardless of submission or absence of pardon request.
Such norm was approved in the presidential order signed on January 26.
The offices of the president's advisor for legal support of reforms and coordination of law enforcement agencies were transformed into bureaus for citizenship, pardons and political asylum in accordance with the same order.
The letter of instruction of pardon of a convict signed by the President will be forwarded to the respective agencies for implementation.
