Kyrgyz PM hopeful Maripov suggests merger of Ministry of Economy and Ministry of Finance

AKIPRESS.COM - Prime Minister hopeful Ulukbek Maripov proposed to merge the Ministry of Economy and Ministry of Finance.
The merger is aimed at boosting responsibility for the budget as raising budget income today is a top priority, he said.
"The role of the Minister of Finance will be at the level of the Deputy Prime Minister," he said.
It is also proposed to merge the Ministry of Transport and the Architecture and Communication Agency to boost work on digitalization, he added.
MP Aida Kasymalieva asked who would lead the ministry and if it would be current First Deputy Prime Minister Artem Novikov.
Maripov said the Ministry of Economy and Finance will be headed by Ulugbek Karmyshakov.
