Billionaire Alijan Ibragimov buried in Tokmok

AKIPRESS.COM - Kazakh oligarch Alijan Ibragimov was buried in his home town of Tokmok, Kyrgyzstan, on February 4.
Alijan Ibragimov died from coronavirus infection in Belgium. He caught coronavirus infection in Kazakhstan. After his condition deteriorated, he departed to Belgium for medical treatment.
At the funeral ceremony today Chui region governor Mirbek Miyarov offered condolences. A representative of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of Kazakhstan read out condolences on behalf of first President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbaev, President Kasym-Jomart Tokayev, Parliament Speaker Nurlan Nigmatulin.
Business partners and friends Patokh Chodiev and Alexander Mashkevich talked about their friendship with Alijan Ibragimov. They could not cope with grief and shed tears.
The funeral prayer was performed and the men headed to the cemetery then.
Alijan Ibragimov was born on 5 June 1993 in Fergana, Uzbekistan. Then he moved to Tokmok, Kyrgyzstan.
He was a Kazakh oligarch of the Uyghur descent, who was a member of a well-known circle of oligarchs in Kazakhstan known as the "Trio." The "Trio" comprises Ibragimov and his business partners, Alexander Mashkevich and Patokh Chodiev, active in the mining, oil and gas, banking sectors in Kazakhstan.
Ibragimov was ranked #382 on Forbes' list of world billionaires.
With his partners Chodiev and Mashkevich, Ibragimov was a major shareholder in Eurasian National Resources Corporation (ENRC). Based in London, ENRC operates a number of metals assets in Kazakhstan and Africa, having acquired numerous mining operations in Eastern Europe and Africa.
ENRC was floated on the London Stock Exchange in December 2007, with a market capitalization on Admission of approximately £60.8 billion.
