President Mirziyoyev inagurates stone paper factory in Fergana

AKIPRESS.COM - President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited a stone paper factory in Fergana during his visit to Fergana region, the president's press service reported.
The factory was launched in a pilot mode yet. It will produce 9,000 tons of stone paper a year.
Stone paper is a type of strong and durable paper-like material manufactured from calcium carbonate bonded with small amount of resin high-density polyethylene. It is used for stationery, leaflets, posters, books, magazines, bags, packaging, wallpaper, adhesives, tags, in-mould labels, plates, trays, containers, and maps. The stone paper is in a big demand at the external market.
60 people work at the factory.
The President was introduced to the production process and checked the quality of produced paper.
"Paper making is one of ancient directions of our craftsmanship. Samarkand paper was well-known throughout the world once. This factory is restoration of historical traditions at industrial level," President Mirziyoyev said.
