Central Asia's biggest poultry farm under construction in Tajikistan

AKIPRESS.COM - Construction of the biggest poultry farm in Central Asia is in progress in Dangara district of Tajikistan.
The farm is expected to produce 5,500 tons of chicken meat a year.
The number of poultry farms grew significantly in the country compared to previous years, Agriculture Minister Sulaimon Ziyozoda said.
The domestic egg and poultry meat needs are almost met, the Minister said.
Last year poultry farms produced 30,600 tons of chicken meat, which is 1.9 times more than in the previous year. Tajikistan reduced imported of chicken meat for 16,000 tons.
983 million eggs were produced in the country last year. To fully meet domestic egg needs, production of 1.6 billion eggs is necessary, the Agriculture Minister said.
