Damage from natural disasters in 2020 in Tajikistan estimated at $5.2 million

AKIPRESS.COM - Damage from natural disasters in Tajkistan in 2020 is estimated at 58.911 million somoni ($5.2 million), Avesta reported with reference to the Emergency Situations Committee. 141 houses were damaged in total, 41 destroyed entirely and 100 destroyed partially among them.
22 schools and kindegartens, 89 km of local roads, 14 bridges, 15 km of overhead transmission lines, 18,817 ha of agricultural fields were damaged.
The Committee noted about reduction in size of damage from natural disasters for past 10 years. The damage caused by natural disasters in 2017 was estaimted at $4.4 mililon, in 2018 at $3.6 million, in 2019 at $3.2 million.
