Kyrgyz state gold company CEO arrested for extortion of a part of salary from manager of affiliated company

AKIPRESS.COM - The anti-corruption service of the State National Security Committee said it has found systemic cases of extortion of money by chairman of the board of Kyrgyzaltyn from some managers of gold mining companies, the press service of the State National Security Committee reported. The detainee regularly demanded a member of the board of directors of an affiliated gold mining company to give him a portion of his salary under threat of firing.
On February 12, the suspect was detained red-handed while taking a bribe of 100 thousand soms.
Elmyrza Ukubaev is the Chairman of the Board of Kyrgyzaltyn.
Ukubaev was appointed as the chairman in November 2020.
