Russia registers 3rd coronavirus vaccine

AKIPRESS.COM - Russia has registered another coronavirus vaccine developed by the Chumakov Center and titled CoviVac, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said at the government meeting.
"The third Russia's coronavirus vaccine CoviVac was registered. It was developed by the Chumakov Center. The first 120,000 doses will be produced for mass vaccination since mid-March," he said.
As for two previous vaccines, 10 million doses of Sputnik V vaccine and 80,000 doses of EpiVacCorona vaccine were produced already, Mishustin said.
People may register for vaccination through a government-run portal. Over 4,000 vaccination points were opened across the country.
Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko said CoviVac vaccine proved its safety and effectiveness during clinical trials. Large-scale trial of the vaccine will be continued in the post-registration period, he said.
