Around 20,000 Kazakhstanis vaccinated against coronavirus

AKIPRESS.COM - Almost 20,000 Kazakhstanis have become the first to be vaccinated against the coronavirus in the country, Vice Minister of Healthcare, chief state sanitary officer Yerlan Kiyasov said. No COVID-19 cases have been reported among those vaccinated, Vice Minister Kiyasov said Monday.
Health workers were the first to get the vaccine within the first stage of the voluntary vaccination campaign in Kazakhstan.
Kiyasov and Vice Minister of Healthcare Azhar Giniyat were the firsts to receive the second dose of Russia's Sputnik V vaccine in Nur-Sultan.
The voluntary vaccination campaign against the coronavirus infection kicked off across Kazakhstan on February 1.
