Japarov and Putin hold talks in Moscow

AKIPRESS.COM - President Sadyr Japarov today met with President Vladimir Putin, the Kyrgyz president's press service reported.
The heads of state discussed relevant areas of bilateral cooperation and prospects of cooperation on issues of a mutual interest.
"Our countries built not only close and warm relations, but allied and privileged relations. I am glad that Russia holds the first place in trade and economic ties of Kyrgyzstan. Hopefully, you will be able to normalize the internal political situation in the country," Putin told Japarov. Putin said the program of Japarov's visit has lots of meetings and events at all levels that will be beneficial for development of bilateral ties.
Vladimir Putin noted assistance provided by Russia to Kyrgyzstan in response to COVID-19. He stressed that many events of the cross year of Kyrgyzstan and Russia were not held due to COVID-19 pandemic and expressed hope that the planned events will be held upon stabilization of the situation.
"We will be glad to work in all directions. We hope that the events planned in Kyrgyzstan, including amendments to the Constitution, will help stabilization of the situation in the country and its consistent development, strengthening of interstate ties," the Russian President said.
Putin also noted a particular importance of keeping Russian language status as official language.
President Sadyr Japarov stressed his first foreign visit as head of state to Russia proves a high level of bilateral relations. "We intend to further continue strengthening of strategic partnership and allied relations," he said.
Japarov thanked Putin for personal support in difficult period for the country and assured Kyrgyzstan will stay committed to all earlier reached agreements with Russia.
"We intend to further deepen our Eurasian integration in the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union, CIS, Collective Security Treaty Organization, Shanghai Cooperation Organization. This is priority in foreign policy of our country," he said.
Japarov also underlined effectiveness and safety of Russia's coronavirus vaccine recognized by the international community and expressed hope for the soon start of vaccination campaign in Kyrgyzstan.
Kyrgyzstan is always ready for cooperation with Russia, Japarov said and invited Putin to make official visit to Kyrgyzstan.
"The heads of state reaffirmed a high level of interstate dialogue and vowed to further support deepening of cooperation in political, military, technical, commercial, economic, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres," said the report.
