Emomali Rahmon and Xi Jinping discuss bilateral ties

AKIPRESS.COM - President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon held a phone conversation with Chinese President Xi Jinping, the Tajik president's press service reported.
President Rahmon noted accomplishments of China in overcoming poverty and congratulated Xi Jinping with success in this area.
The Presidents discussed relevant aspects of bilateral cooperation, including expansion of trade, economic cooperation, e-commerce and transport, agriculture, further joint steps in expansion of cooperation and addressing effects of the world financial and economic crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
Rahmon thanked the Chinese side for support and assistance provided to Tajikistan in response to COVID-19, including readiness of the Chinese government to hand over China's coronavirus vaccine to Tajikistan.
The Presidents vowed to further develop bilateral cultural and humanitarian ties, expressed readiness for strengthening mutually beneficial security cooperation.
The issues related to Tajikistan's SCO Chairmanship this year and the anniversary SCO Summit planned this year in Dushanbe were considered among other issues.
