AKIPRESS.COM - In 2020, there were 8,724 prisoners held in penitentiary institutions of Kyrgyzstan. 324 of them were women; 11 were minors; 139 were citizens over the age of 60.
The number of prisoners was 9.6% less than in 2019.
In 2019, 9,654 people were in held in detention facilities.
