First consignment of AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine arrives in Uzbekistan

AKIPRESS.COM - The first consignment of AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine registered in UK and made in India arrived today in Uzbekistan.
The country received vaccines through COVAX program free of charge. Vaccination will cover 3% of country population.
This is one of three vaccines recommended by WHO, the Ministry of Health said.
660,000 doses from expected 2.6 million arrived.
The next consignment of vaccines will arrive in May.
The trial of vaccine in Uzbekistan will take a week.
People above 16 years will be vaccinated.
Uzbekistan plans to vaccinate 20% of country population in the framework of COVAX program before the end of the year.
