Fire areas on Bishkek landfill extinguished since Jan 2021

AKIPRESS.COM - Some 51,000 tons of solid domestic waste were brought to the Bishkek landfill and buried there from January 12 to March 12, the Bishkek mayor's press service reported.
The areas of fire at the landfill were extinguished. The process of smoulding was foiled. The areas of fire on the landfill surface were removed. Some fire areas remained on the dump side, which are watered regularly.
Realization of the Bishkek Solid Waste Management Project resumed. Representatives oof the Estonian contractor company arrived in Kyrgyzstan for completion of started work. Preparations for the next phase of the project - tender for waste sorting factory - are underway.
