AKIPRESS.COM - Former Chief of President's Administration Farid Niyazov has stage 3 hypertension of 3rd high-risk degree, his lawyer Zamir Jooshev told AKIpress on March 18. The council of physicians was held on March 3 in the National Cardiology and Therapy Center. Such conclusion was drawn by health professionals on March 9, the lawyer said.
"According to the list of diseases approved by the government, people in such condition must not be held in custody," the lawyer stated.
Farid Niyazov was detained following storming of residence of ex-President Almazbek Atambayev in Koi-Tash village on August 7-8, 2019. During post-election protests in October 2020, he was released from custody along with other cronies of ex-President Atambayev. On October 10, Niyazov was taken into custody again on suspicion of organization of mass disorders at Ala-Too square on October 9, 2020.
The Bishkek city court today upheld detention for Farid Niyazov, who will remain in custody until April 13.
