AKIPRESS.COM - An earthquake with a magnitude of around 5.5 hit the central Mongolian province of Govisumber on Tuesday night, local media reported citing the country's Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics. The quake occurred about 16 km northeast of Bayantal soum (administrative subdivision) of the province at around 10:47 p.m. local time (1447 GMT), Xinhua reported.
The strong quake was felt in different areas of the country, including the capital city Ulan Bator and the provinces of Darkhan in the north, Dundgovi in the south and Khentii in the east.
