AKIPRESS.COM - Covid-19 reinfections are observed in Uzbekistan, Infectious Disease Hospital Vice Chief Olimjon Iskhakov told Kun.uz.
"We observe symptoms in patients, who earlier contracted coronavirus infection and recovered from it. It is very hard to determine the exact number of reinfections. Very often the repeatedly contracted infection is asymptomatic. However, such cases exist. People should respect quarantine rules to avoid Covid-19 reinfection," the doctor said.
Olimjon Iskhakov noted increase in number of patients admitted to the hospital.
"This is the first time in 2021 when we see such many cases. But the situation is yet can't be compared with summer 2020. We should not forget about such measures as wearing medical masks, keeping a safe physical distance, use of antiseptics to avoid recurrence of summer peak of cases," he concluded.
Uzbekistan reintroduces quarantine restrictions since April 1 and tightened control over mas wearing and use of antiseptics in public places.
