The road leading to Sokh district through Rishtan will reopen since April 1, he said.
Before people had to pass 80 km to get to Sokh district. Now they will travel just 19 km to get to the district.
The region governor announced planned relaunch of minibus service for transportation of passengers to Sokh district.
The Uzbek side undertook repair of the road to Sokh.
The toad to Sokh-Rishtan was closed in 2013 after the conflict on the border of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.
Sokh district with the area of 350 sq km is surrounded with the territory of Batken region of Kyrgyzstan. To get to Sokh, it is necessary to travel around 20 km along the territory of Kyrgyzstan.
Residents of the enclave are citizens of Uzbekistan, ethnic Tajiks, who settled in the area rich with pastures and close to the Sokh river several centuries ago.
