AKIPRESS.COM - Deputy Minister of Health and Social Protection of Tajikistan Samariddin Alizoda was dismissed from his post.
He was widely criticized by social media users after he confused North and South Korea.
On March 18, Alizoda came unprepared for the special press conference on use of AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine in Tajikistan. Alizoda could not remember names of the WHO Country Director and UNICEF Resident Representative while introducing speakers at the press conference. Then he mixed South and North Korea. In response to remarks of those present in the room, the Deputy Health Minister said "it does not matter North or South Korea, it's Korea anyway."
Deputy Health Minister Alizoda was then criticized at the board meeting in the Ministry of Health.
President Emomali Rahmon signed the dismissal order on March 31.
