Kyrgyzstan suggests land swap. President Rahmon to visit Vorukh

AKIPRESS.COM - President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon will visit Vorukh exclave of Isfara district as part of his working visit to Sughd region, Asia-Plus reported with reference tot the president's press service.
Rahmon will start his working visit to Sughd region in the first decade of April. He will visit Khujand, Istaravshan, Guliston, Isfara.
According to a source of Asia-Plus in Sughd region administration, the visit is planned for April 5-8.
The President of Tajikistan will visit Vorukh amid discussion of the statement made by State National Security Committee Chairman Kamchibek Tashiev that Kyrgyzstan suggested exchange of Vorukh with another land plot in Batken region.
Official Dushanbe has not commented on this statement yet and has not provided the details of the latest border talks held in Guliston, Sughd region of Tajikistan.
The Foreign Ministry of Tajikistan just said the meeting of the State National Security Committees of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan was held in a friendly atmosphere and the sides decided to continue talks until achievement of agreements on border issues.
Emomali Rahmon visited Vorukh in 2019, where he met with then President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Jeenbekov.
