Uzbekistan approves use of recombinant coronavirus vaccine

AKIPRESS.COM - The use of recombinant coronavirus vaccine ZF-UZ-VAC2001 has been approved in Uzbekistan, Dunyo news agency reported. This vaccine was developed by the Institute of Microbiology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences together with Uzbekistan. The emergency use of this vaccine was also authorized in China.
The first and second phases of clinical trials ended in October 2020. No serious side effects were reported.
ZF-UZ-VAC2001 is an adjuvanted protein subunit vaccine. It employs technology similar to other protein-based vaccines. It is administered in 3 doses over a period of 2 months.
