Tajikistan to increase wheat imports to 1.23 million tons by 2023

AKIPRESS.COM - Tajikistan plans to increase wheat imports to 1.23 million tons by 2023, according to the forecast of main macroeconomic indexes for 2021-2023. The annual wheat imports will make 35,000-40,000 tons in the next 3 years.
Tajikistan plans to buy 1.157 million tons of wheat this year for $237.1 million. By 2023, the country plans to import 1.117 millon tons of wheat for $252.9 million.
Last year Tajikistan imported over 999,000 tons of wheat for over $243.2 million.
