Tajikistan plans to attract over $2.7 bn in foreign investments for 3 years

AKIPRESS.COM - Tajikistan plans to attract over $2.7 billion in foreign investments for the next 3 years, according to the forecast of main macroeconomic indexes of Tajikistan for 2021-2023.
The country hopes foreign investments will grow $200 million a year.
This year the country projects to receive $774 million in foreign investments. This figure is projected at $924 million in 2022 and $1.069 billion in 2023.
The State Investment and State Property Management Committee said the national economy received $428 million in foreign investments in 2020. This is down 53% than in 2019.
These included mainly investments from China (over $150 million), Saudi Arabia ($39 million), Phillippines ($38 million).
According to the State Statistics Committee, 70 public investment projects for over $3.5 billion are in progress in the country now.
Loans make around 50%, grants make over 45%. The remaining part is co-financed by the government of Tajikistan.
