President Mirziyoyev, Speaker of South Korean National Assembly discuss joint projects

AKIPRESS.COM - President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation of the National Assembly of South Korea led by Speaker Park Byeong-seug. The delegation included 6 deputy members of parliamentary committees in priority areas - public administration, financial policy, industry, trade, energy, transport, agriculture, ecology, healthcare, labor relations, culture, sports and tourism, the president's press service reported.
The current issues of the bilateral and regional agenda were considered during the talks.
The President of Uzbekistan praised ongoing active exchanges and the dynamic development of bilateral relations. At the beginning of this year, an online summit of the leaders of the two countries was successfully held.
Speaker Park Byeong-seug, expressing deep gratitude for the warm welcome, passed sincere greetings and best wishes on behalf of the President of the Republic of Korea Moon Jae-in.
It was noted that the countries kept bilateral trade on the same level. A portfolio of new investment projects worth more than $3 billion has been prepared with the participation of leading Korean companies and banks. In general, the volume of investments from the Republic of Korea exceeded $7 billion.
The importance of continuing a close dialogue within the framework of the Republic of Korea - Central Asia Cooperation Forum was confirmed. Implementation of joint programs in healthcare, education, science and culture, humanitarian exchanges was also considered.
